Medford Lakes Receives $145,000 Transportation Grant
Medford Lakes has been successful in obtaining a $145,000 State Transportation Trust Fund grant for improvement of the Stokes Road Pedestrian walkway along Ballinger Lake. This Grant, combined with a previous $125,000 grant for Trading Post way will allow the Borough to make substantial improvements for Pedestrian and bike access to these important routes. Work on both will be postponed until the completion of the Lower Aetna dam project in late Spring but the Borough anticipates awarding the initial contract on the Trading Post Way intersection before the end of 2006.

you should put seners in the walk ways when pedestrians enter the walkways the flashing yellow light would flash red not yellow.with all the lines in the road and all the signs up now know ones stops or slows down now.when you are coming up stokes from town you cannot see pedestrians getting ready to cross stokes hay i seen some kids fly across the road and not even look tom o'brien
the walkways should have seneors in them so when pedestrian's enter into the walksways the flashing light goes on red not yellow. the flashing yellow light and all the lines in the road does not slow down the cars.and when you are coming up stokes road from town and the brush has leaves on them you cannot see the pedestrian on the right side.i seen kids come out on stokes with out stopping.
While the improvements to Trading Post way and Stokes Rd are wonderful and greatly needed Council should install a pedestrian light. With the intersection of 4 Rds (Trading Post, Stokes, Minnetonka and Mohawk) a pedetrian has difficulty judging when to proceed. With a light that would stop traffic, on coming vehicles would be alerted to people are trying to cross and pedestrians feel safer trying to cross. Sue Mattio
