Preliminary Removal of Borough Manager

A RESOLUTION PURSUANT TO 40:69A-93 FOR PRELIMINARY REMOVAL

WHEREAS, Mr. Richard Knight is currently the Borough Manager for the Borough of Medford Lakes; and

WHEREAS, members of Council have a general lack in confidence in the Borough Manager’s ability to perform the essential duties of the office;

NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by Borough Council as follows: The Borough Manager is hereby removed preliminarily from his position pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:69A-93 and immediately suspended from duty.

Contract Awarded for Oaks Hall Interior

At a special meeting on November 1st, Borough Council awarded a contract to W.J. Gross for the completion of the interior fit out of Oaks Hall. Total contract was $739,995 which was the low bid of 7 qualified bidders (highest bid was $1,183,000.) Work is expected to take 150 days from the time of contract execution which is expected later this month.

The staining of the exterior had to be rebid due to the withdrawal of the only previous bidder. Bid specs have been issued and a contract should be awarded on or before November 29th.

The remaining items for the completion of the project are the site work and building furnishing.

Cancellation of Budget Workshop

Cancellation of Special Budget Workshop
In accordance with the provisions of the Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et seq., notice is hereby given that the Special Budget Workshop to be held on November 8, 2007 at 6:30pm has been canceled. The regular Borough Council meeting will still proceed at 7:30pm.

Medford Lakes Police Department Performance Notice

Today, November 1, 2007, marks Corporal Robert J. Dugan Jr.’s fifth anniversary as an employee with the Medford Lakes Police Department.
During his five years with the police department, Corporal Robert J. Dugan, Jr. has not used any earned sick time, available to him, as per the Medford Lakes Police Officer’s Association Collective Bargaining Agreement with Medford Lakes Borough.
Five consecutive years of perfect attendance is a milestone which is not only a symbolism of dedication and devotion to duty but an indication of excellent self, physical conditioning. You are congratulated on an achievement well appreciated by all!
