Borough accepts Share Grant for Police Services Study

At its May 27, 2009 meeting, the Medford Lakes Borough Council adopted a Resolution accepting a $26,550 SHARE Grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. The grant will be used by the Borough to advance the analysis of shared police services with the Township of Medford. This action follows the Borough’s recent award of a contract to Salmon Ventures, LLC to conduct the shared services study for the Borough in collaboration with the Township.

Mayor Weiss stated, “We appreciate the DCA’s support of our efforts to advance the analysis of shared police services between the Borough and Medford Township. We look forward to working with Medford and Salmon Ventures to advance this study in a timely and thorough manner.”

Memorial Day Parade, Monday, May 25th

The Medford Lakes Lions Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for Monday, May 25th starting at 10:00am.

The route will be from Wilson Field up Onondago Trail to Hiawatha Trail to Lenape Trail to Stokes Road to Memorial Circle between Mohawk and Minnetonka Trail.

A ceremony honoring our veterans will be held at the Memorial Circle.

Other festivities are scheduled following at Brooks Field

Gypsy Moth Suppression Program - Update2

The State completed spraying the Borough of Medford Lakes for Gypsy Moth's today at approximately 10:30 am.

This will conclude the Borough's 2009 effort to suppress the Gypsy Moth infestation. All residents are recommended to contact a private pesticide contractor if needing additional help in controlling property damage.

Please note that certain commercial pesticide applicators must be registered with the Borough and obtain a permit for said operations.

Gypsy Moth Suppression Program - Update

Due to a problem with the airplane used for spraying the NJ Dept. of Agriculture has cancelled the Wednesday ( May 20th ) planned aerial spraying and have rescheduled for Thursday, May 21st between the hours of 5:00 am and 7:45 am pending weather conditions.

The 66 acres being sprayed is roughly contained to all of Tuckerton Road and all of Nahma Trail.

Polling Place Changes for Districts 1, 2 & 4

ATTENTION ALL VOTERS
Of DISTRICTS #1, 2 & 4

The County Board of Elections has relocated the Polling Places of Voting Districts #1, 2 and 4 to Oaks Hall
at Municipal Cabin, 1 Cabin Circle.

The move was made to comply with the provisions of the
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA).

This change takes effect at the Primary Election on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 from 6:00am to 8:00pm.

Satisfactory completion of police academy training with certification from the New Jersey Police Training Commission (Basic Police Officer).
**Candidates eligible for a waiver of training from the New Jersey Police Training Commission may apply.
Minimum 60 college credits or 2 years active duty military or Coast Guard service with honorable discharge.
At least 18 but not more than 35 years of age (Per state statute)

2009 Introduced/approved Municipal Budget

Notice is hereby given that the budget and tax resolution was approved by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Medford Lakes, County of Burlington, on April 22, 2009.

A hearing on the budget and tax resolution will be held at Oaks Hall, on May 27, 2009 at
7:30 o'clock P.M. at which time and place objections to the Budget and Tax Resolution for the
year 2009 may be presented by taxpayers or other interested persons.
