Memorial Day Information

This year's parade will be going back to the original route, starting from Wilson Field to Onondago Trail to Hiawatha Trail to Lenape Trail to Stokes Road to Todd Memorial between Minnetonka Trail and Mohawk Trail.

Note that recycling in the Borough will be picked-up on Wednesday, May 28th instead of Tuesday, May 27th because of the holiday on Monday.

Temporary Road Closure

McKendimen Road Closed
May 17, 2008
McKendimen Road will be closed, from Chippewa Trail to Oak Drive, to vehicular traffic on Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 12 noon until 5:00 PM for the "Ducky Race". The road closure is necessary for the safety of the pedestrians and to help with the operations of the event.

By-weekly Update May 5th to May 18th, 2008

The following are updates to various projects and events:

1. MisheMokwa Trail is repaired and open to pedestrians and vehicles. This work was completed at a substantially lower cost than anticipated by our very own, and very talented Public Works Department. Congrats!

2. The Public Works department is now concentrating on the Spring Leaf Collection beginning with the main trails followed by voting districts #3, 4, 2 & 1.

3. Oaks Hall construction is proceeding to plan, this week they are pressure washing the exterior in anticipation of applying the exterior stain, various sub-contractors are completing voice/data installations, security system installations and the ceiling to Oaks Hall.

4. A regular council meeting will be held this Thursday, May 8th starting at 7:30pm. The Public Comment on the 2008 Introduced Municipal Budget is on the agenda along with other matters for council to review consider.

5. There is a Municipal Election on Tuesday, May 13th from 6:00am to 8:00pm. One "At-large" councilperson position is open. The four year term is July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2012. District #'s 1 &2 will be voting at Vaughan Hall, District #3 will vote at Neeta School and District #4 will vote at the firehouse.

6. McKendimen Road will be closed from Chippewa Trail to Oak Drive on Saturday, May 17th from 12:00noon to 5:00pm during a Legalized Game of Chance (Duck Race)

7. CLEAN COMMUNITY DAY.......is Saturday, May 17th. Bring large trash to the public works drop-off from 9:00am to 12:00noon........bring hazardous waste (paint, batteries, solvents, etc.) to the drop-off center from 9:00am to 12:00noon.........and stop by the Borough's Information Tables set-up in the parking lot to learn about recycling, litter control and other clean community issues that enhance our quality of life here in the Borough.

8. Tabernacle Road Bridge is scheduled to be repaired at the end of June once the kids are out of school. The tentative date of closure is the week of June 23rd through June 27th. The county will be placing advanced warning signs to allow the public ample time to find alternate routes of travel.
