Labor Day Holiday Recycling Schedule

The recycling schedule will shift to the next day due to the Labor Day Holiday. Instead of picking up on Tuesday, September 2nd the Borough of Medford Lakes will be picked up on Wednesday, September 3rd. For more information call the Recycling Hotline (609) 267-6889.

2008 Tax Bill

The Grace Period for third quarter 2008 taxes is extended to
5:00pm, Monday, September 8th.

The total tax rate for 2008 is $5.225 per $100 of assessed valuation. The average homeowner will pay $7,733.00, an increase of $170.20 from the amount that was paid in 2007. For comparison purposes, the average taxpayer has a home assessed at $148,000. If your assessed valuation is below the average, you will pay less; however, if your assessed valuation is higher than the average, you will pay more.
COUNTY TAX: The County tax rate for 2008 is $.663 per $100 of assessed valuation. The average homeowner will pay $981.24 in County taxes for 2008, a decrease of $17.76 from the amount paid in 2007.
COUNTY LIBRARY TAX: The rate for 2008 is $.062 per $100 of assessed valuation. The average homeowner will pay $91.76, the same amount that was paid in 2007.
COUNTY OPEN SPACE TAX: The rate for 2008 is $.083 per $100 assessed valuation. The average homeowner will pay $122.84, an increase of $7.40 from the amount that was paid in 2007.
LOCAL MEDFORD LAKES DISTRICT SCHOOL TAX: The rate for 2008 is $2.247 per $100 of assessed valuation. The average homeowner will pay $3,325.56, an increase of $198.32 from the amount that was paid in 2007.
LENAPE REGIONAL DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL TAX: The rate for 2008 is $1.029 per $100 of assessed valuation. The average homeowner will pay $1,522.92, a decrease of $79.92 from the amount that was paid in 2007.
MUNICIPAL PURPOSE TAX: The rate for 2008 is $1.141 per $100 of assessed valuation. The average homeowner will pay $1,688.68, an increase of $62.16 from the amount that was paid in 2007.

Pine Barrens Festival

Wednesday, August 6th is Medford Lakes Night at the Annual Pine Barrens Festival at Holy Eucharist Church in Tabernacle. This year, resident Kent Hardwick will be recognized for his many contributions of outstanding service to the Medford Lakes Community. The presentation will start at approx. 8:30pm in the, "band tent". The Pine Barrens Festival runs August 4th through August 9th at Church of the Holy Eucharist, 520 Medford Lakes - Tabernacle Road, Tabernacle, NJ 08088.
